We decided to install the Doctor Air Brake Radar Auto Braking safety system, “Reverse Smart” on our vehicles, and we couldn’t be happier with the decision. The safety enhancement has been immediate and noticeable. With this system, our customers now have the added reassurance that vehicle incidents involving objects and more crucially, people are much less of a risk.
One of the standout features for us is how the system provides driver assistance, particularly when reversing. In the past, there was always the concern that a driver might not be aware of a person in the blind spot directly behind the vehicle, especially in busy yards and work environments. With Doctor Air Brakes Reverse Smart, we are helping our clients mitigate the risk for their drivers as well as vulnerable road users. The system automatically detects any person in the vehicle’s path and provides both audible and visual warnings as the vehicle gets closer.

Last month I posted about a Trial whereby we have been working closely with our Supply Chain in delivering Auto Braking Systems to a Markon Roadsweeper & Foster Contracting Tanker Sprayer.
Last night I visited site and spoke to the two drivers and after a couple demonstrations on site I asked for there good/bad Feedback, I was amazed and delighted to hear lots of positivity and no bad points, what a great way to end the year knowing that we as a supply chain worked together to improve the safety of everyone on our sites and what better way in an activity that is such high risk to our operations on our sites “Reversing”.
The Foster Contracting Driver commented; “it’s a great system it works similar to a car initially by giving you pre warning in the dash similar to Rear Reversing Sensors but most importantly activates the brakes when a potential collision is detected, you then know something is worth investigating behind you before moving further.”
